Uplift Thy Neighbor is a non-profit organization focused on supporting and leading a number of relief projects in Palestine. Through our Uplift Center located in the Old City of Nablus, we provide financial assistance and tailored programming to Palestinians throughout the community. Specifically, we focus on: food security, housing assistance, and women's empowerment.
MISSION & HISTORY.
Uplift Thy Neighbor seeks to improve the living conditions of Palestinian citizens and to ensure that all Palestinians have a safe, comfortable, and respectable home environment.
Uplift Thy Neighbor was founded in the spring of 2020 during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. At the time (and to date), COVID-19 was exacerbating the economic disparity throughout Palestine. With quarantine and isolation, those who were already in or on the brink of poverty found themselves in dire need of food and better shelter. With the pandemic, many Palestinians found themselves stuck inside homes without adequate space for the entire family, with no running water, or with dangerous structural issues. On top of that, food shortages and unemployment made it harder and harder for Palestinians to get by day to day.
Uplift Thy Neighbor aims to address these issues and provide all Palestinian families the dignity of food, shelter, and economic opportunity.

Uplift Thy Neighbor operates a large food shelter that provides free meals to families four days a week. Each day, the shelter serves about 350 Palestinians.
Uplift Thy Neighbor works with general contractors in the Old City of Nablus to improve housing conditions. This includes basic renovation, structural fixes to ensure safety, and repairs on waterlines and pipes. Uplift works with individual families, so if you or someone you know needs assistance, please reach out using the email below!
Uplift Thy Neighbor provides training courses and job opportunities at our center in the Old City of Nablus. Currently, we are running free workshops teaching soap making. This provides women an opportunity not only to earn an income (selling the soap out of our location), but it also allows them to learn a marketable trade.
